A theater performer is about to come on board to Nashville where he will likely play a pretty memorable character.

Is Will Going To Come Out Of The Closet On 'Nashville?'

On Friday, Deadline announced that actor Kyle Dean Massey will join the series in a recurring role as Kevin Bicks- a successful singer-songwriter in town who is openly gay.

That was pretty much all that was released about the character, but it gives curiosity if he will be the new love interest for Will. Last month, TV Line reported that a singer named Kevin would join the series as a handsome and tough "man's man," which could easily mean "Will's new man."

Luke & Rayna's Pre-Wedding Chatter On 'Nashville'

Massey's previous credits include a Broadway run in the title role of Pippin. He was also in Sex and the City 2, Contest and the Peter Rabbit television series.

As for the remaining storylines of Nashville, a lot has happened especially for Rayna since she didn't marry Luke. So does this mean that she and Deacon will finally get together?

There is also the matter of Teddy who is supposed to be making more of an appearance in Rayna's life again along with their two daughters. Eric Close (Teddy) previously told The Hollywood Reporter that things are about to change for the characters.

"There's much more involvement because some things start to happen with Teddy and some of the choices he's making that draw Rayna and the girls back in," the actor said. "It always seems to happen that their lives are so intertwined."

Nashville returns this February on ABC.
