She might be one of the most successful movie and television actresses of her time, but Jennifer Aniston says that even she has her moments of self doubt sometimes. The actress opened up in a new interview, where she talks about the Oscars, why Friends deserved all the accolades that it got along with her latest film, Cake.

Is Jennifer Aniston Jealous Of Her Brother's Pregnancy News?

In an interview with The Detroit News on Friday, when asked if a competition between artists to see who's done the "best work" makes any sense, her answer was simple.

Aniston said, "No. It doesn't. I mean, how on earth? There are so many wonderful actors, there are so many interesting characters. Why narrow it down to five people and then one? I don't know."

Is Jennifer Aniston Feeling Pressure To Get Pregnant From Her Family?

She added, "It kind of gives people a motivation and a drive - which I've never quite had to be honest - about winning that sort of golden ticket at the end of the road. A creative competition that pits people against each other ... I don't know how you can say one performance is better than another - they're all so different."

What's more, Aniston said that while all of Friends' accolades have been well deserved for the show, it didn't come until much later down the line for the show.

She said, "Really, my goal is to entertain and bring joy to people. Even when we were doing 'Friends,' the Emmys were great, but 'Friends' the show never got an Emmy until the eighth season or ninth (actually it was the eighth). But we knew we were one of the best shows on television. You can't take away what the fans say, and that's the real truth."

Aniston also reflects on her self doubts while making Cake, a movie about a woman's struggle with chronic pain.

"You do start to kind of question your own abilities by saying, do they know something that I don't know? Can I do that?" she says. "That was a big part of wanting to take on this part, was just proving to myself that I was capable of doing it."
