Gia Giudice has broken her silence on what it was like to visit her mother, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice behind bars.

Teresa Giudice 'Shut The World Out' Just Before Going To Prison

Teresa is currently serving a 15-month sentence in prison after she and her husband, Joe, pleaded guilty to several fraud charges in March 2014. The couple's oldest daughter, 14-year-old Gia, opened up to Access Hollywood on going to see her mother in jail and how the family is doing during her absence.

After going to see Teresa, Gia told fans "she's doing amazing."

She added, "We can talk to her on a daily [basis] and we have access to e-mailing her whenever we want. So that's amazing. It definitely helps with like coping with missing her and stuff."

She credited Joe for being the main factor that keeps Gia and her three younger sisters together.

"I mean, my dad has been amazing. Like, he's honestly the rock. He's helping us so much."

On top of being able to communicate with her family all the time, Teresa is said to be making sure being behind bars doesn't stop her from looking fabulous.

Gia also told E! News that she was surprised at how great her mother looked.

"It's nothing like anyone would expect...They just had her makeup done. It was so good seeing her...It was fun."

She gushed about her mother and said they are "like sisters" and said she has stood by her mother during the whole ordeal.
