"We always saw each other in the studio, and we'd talk about songs we were working on. It was cool to have a girl that I could talk to about my problems. I did that with her. It's not some fake-a--, inauthentic s--- when I say we were friends. This is something special and I appreciate every moment of it."

Grande and Big Sean first stayed coy about whether they were dating. But after a snapshot of the two kissing on a rollercoaster leaked and went viral, they revealed they were a couple. Big Sean added that he is not "afraid" to be open about his relationship with Grande being the center of headlines.

"You can't be afraid, because when you're afraid you don't give it your all."

Big Sean also shut down Naya Rivera's tweets that he stole a Rolex from her during their messy breakup. He added that he wasn't surprised by Rivera's accusations and chalked it up to "unnecessary drama."

He said that his new song IDFWU isn't entirely about Rivera.

"[I] wrote the last verse 'and everyday I wake up celebrating s---, why? 'Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy b----.' [The song] did not come from a bitter place at all."
