They managed to put split rumors behind them with a rare date night out, but new reports are once again hinting at trouble in Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes' relationship.

According to In Touch Weekly, the 40-year-old actress has been depressed since the birth of the couple's daughter, Esmeralda Amada, in September-and her state has been taking a huge toll on her relationship with the 33-year-old actor.

"It seems like she's suffering from the baby blues," a source told the magazine. "She's been having severe mood swings, making it unbearable for anyone to be around her. One minute she's sending Ryan videos of their daughter, and then the next she won't accept his calls."

As a result, the source adds, she and Gosling have been "arguing a lot," since he sees parenting as an equal partnership.

However, the actor isn't reportedly ready to throw the towel in on his romance just yet, and has been trying hard to help lure the new mom out of her funk, including taking frequent trips home last month, despite filming his movie The Nice Guys in Atlanta, Ga.

However, even though he has reportedly been putting in his best efforts, his girlfriend's mood hasn't changed.

"Ryan wants to make things better and even suggested they go see someone for help," the source said. "But Eva won't go. She doesn't think there's a problem."

The couple was previously reported to have been 'on the verge' of a split after spending so much time apart due to Gosling's busy work schedule.
