The mid season opener of Scandal left fans breathless on Thursday night after viewers found out where Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) was taken.

Kerry Washington Talks 'Scandal' Mid-Season Opener

It's pretty safe to say that the mid season premiere of ABC's hit political thriller was crazy.

After Ms. Pope was kidnapped from her home, she was taken to the apartment just across the hall where men in black body suits and black masks watched as Jake (Scott Foley) went searching for her.

In the apartment, viewers were introduced to Pope's neighbor, Lois, but sadly she was shot in the head.

When Olivia woke up, she was in a cell that was believed to be in the Middle East. Luckily she had a companion in the cell, Ian, but he was presumably killed after Olivia failed to escape the prison through a little hole in the bathroom.

During her stay in prison, Olivia told Ian that someone would be there to rescue her because the President of the United States loved her, but like Abby (Darby Stanchfield) said in Olivia's dream, "there is no man to rescue you... You are the only gladiator."

After having a complete meltdown, Olivia came to her senses and she remembered that she isn't a 'b---baby.' After using the wire from her bra, she unhooked a sink pipe and used it to beat one of the guards and she used his gun to kill the other.

After unlocking the locks and opening the door, Olivia was shocked to see that she was only inside of a giant warehouse and all of the noises and scenery she saw from inside of the bunker were simply an image displayed by a projection screen.

The shocker came when fellow prisoner Ian walked in and she realized that he was the man in charge. After all of their vent sessions, he learned that Fitz does indeed love her, and that he was going to use that information to get exactly what he wants.

Hopefully episode 11, Where's the Black Lady, will give viewers a little more clarity. With Olivia still missing, the team comes together to do what ever it takes to get her home safely.

Scandal airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. on ABC. Fans can watch a sneak peek of the new episode in the video below.
