The preview trailer for the final season of MTV's "Jersey Shore" previewed during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 6

Hihlights of the clip include Snooki entering the famous shared home in Seaside Heights, saying "Pregnant b*tch is here!", and Deena admitting "I love drinking during the day!"

On Aug. 30 MTV announced that Season 6 of "Jersey Shore" would be the reality show's last one. The cancellation came the same week that Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi gave birth to her son Lorenzo.

MTV aired a one-hour special called "Gym, Tan, Look Back," right before the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.

According to the Associated Press, the show became a pop-culture phenomenon and one of MTV's biggest hits when it began in Dec. 2009. The show peaked with as many as 8 million viewers though ratings have taken a downward turn in the more recent seasons. It created the spinoff shows "Snooki & JWOww" and "The Pauly D Project."

MTV programming executive Chris Linn told several publications that the reason MTV cancelled its hit reality TV show had nothing to do with the budget but that the network came to realize that it was the right time.

In an interview on Friday with TV Guide, Linn said the show continues to have good ratings and remained the No. 1 show in the audience 12-34 each week. It also denied that it became too expensive for the network to sustain as the stars became more popular and their salaries spiked.

The series made new mom Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino famous and popularized the terms "guido," "guidette," "smush," "grenades" and "GTL."

As for what some of the stars are up to and what their future may hold, Snooki had her baby on Aug. 26, at 5:30 a.m. She kept her fans updated on Twitter: "I am SO IN LOVE with my son Lorenzo Dominic! I had my little man last night, healthy at 6 lbs! HE'SMY WORLD! <3"

Jenni "JWoww" Farley will tie the knot with long-time Roger Matthews.

Pauly D has made a successful career as a DJ. Forbes magazine recently placed him at no. 7 in their first ever Top Earnings' DJs List. According to the report, D earned a whopping $11 million in the past year alone from DJ gigs.

MTV will continue running the reality show "Snooki & JWOWWW" which has been renewed for season two.

"Jersey Shore" final season's first episode will premiere on Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
