Supernatural may be ready to bring the demon tablet back into play.

Castiel (Misha Collins) referenced the slab of cryptic text during the midseason premiere, and there is a chance Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) might turn to the tablet as a means of ridding Dean of the Mark.

Executive producer Jeremy Carver was less than forthcoming when TV Line asked about the possible reappearance of the tablet.

"There are a couple tablets out there... I can't say right now," Carver told TV Line. "Good question."

Of the two tablets the Winchesters have seen, one is destroyed and the other is missing. Cas put an end to the angel tablet in the season 9 finale, but the demon tablet is still floating around somewhere.

Unfortunately, even if Team Free Will could get their hands on the missing artifact - or any tablet, for that matter - they have no way to translate Metatron's (Curtis Armstrong) writing. Kevin is six feet under, and no other prophet has appeared to take his place.

So, what do you think? Does Dean's salvation lay in the Word of God, or will the tablets resurface for some other reason? Sound off in the poll below.
