Jordin Sparks Weight Loss: Singer Shows Off Bikini Body After Losing 50 Pounds [PHOTOS]

Jordin Sparks was a shell of her former self as she hit the beach with boyfriend Jason Derulo this week.

The singer has dropped 50 pounds since she rose to fame after winning "American Idol" in 2007, and she showed off her new body in a tiny, brightly colored bikini at the Cove at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

The lovebirds, both 22, met and fell in love at the Atlantis resort one year ago. They were completely affectionate with each other despite the photographers surrounding them, kissing and cuddling in the luxury pool.

Sparks opened up about her weight to Shape magazine last month.

"'I knew I had a long road ahead of me. I was barely working out, and my diet was a mess. I had to address when, what, and how much I was eating," she told the magazine. "I just wanted to be healthy. I remember thinking, 'I'm in my prime. I should be happy and fit.' That was the moment I decided that changes needed to be made."

Sparks expanded her talents this year by dipping her feet into the acting pool in her first film, "Sparkle." She starred alongside the late Whitney Houston in the tale of a Motown girl group trying to make it big.
