They nearly didn't come back for a fourth season at all, but it appears the negative criticisms that were lobbied at them during their hiatus brought Lebanon Levi and Merlin Miller back to TV for one last season of Amish Mafia.

Levi 'Not Going To Stand For' Governor's Actions

In a new preview clip for the season premiere episode, the two enemies appear to be teaming up against one enemy in particular-the former governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Corbett-who took a stance against the show last year during the heart of the Respect Amish movement, and called for an end to the program.

"I think Governor Corbett is speaking for the Amish people, which he has no right to," Levi says in the clip. "I'm the one that speaks for the Amish."

New 'Amish Mafia' Season Will Be Its Last

He and Merlin apparently try to initially use more civil tactics in their conflict with the then-governor-but find doors slammed in their faces.

"I saw the governor, I wanted to have a word with him about why we're on TV, to not censor me," Merlin says as his attempt to talk to Corbett fails. "Tom Corbett is a coward. If he can't talk to me, that's showing me that he's afraid of me."

After those efforts don't work though, Levi then moves to keep Corbett from being re-elected (Corbett did lose the election to Tom Wolf).

"We're just trying to show the world how the Amish live, and all he wants is a vote so he stays back in," Levi says, "I'm gonna get the people to vote not for him."

Finally, Levi warns that the show only happens because it's under his control-and he will be the one who decides when it is time for it to come to an end.

"If he had been quiet maybe I would have stopped this show and never come back, but if you're going to run your mouth then I'm going to come back," he warns. "This show happens because I let it happen."

Amish Mafia the final season premieres Tues. Dec. 10 at 10 p.m. on Discovery.
