On Wednesday, Daily Mail reported on behalf of Star Magazine that the two power couples had a little double date for lunch, along with Mendes and Gosling's baby Esmeralda, of course.

The meet-up comes after news that Pitt and Gosling will be shooting their film The Big Short together which means they could have been using lunch as a way to get to know each other better.

A source spoke up about the occurrence: "Brad and Ryan have become really close buddies. And Eva has been a huge fan of Angelina's for years. She was dying to meet her."

Pitt and Gosling are set to star alongside Christian Bale for Plan B and Paramount's adaptation of a Michael Lewis best-seller.

The full title of the book is The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine. The book chronicles the housing and credit bubbles of the 2000s that led to the 2007-08 financial crisis, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Michael Lewis also wrote the popular books-turned-big-screen novels 12 Years a Slave and Selma. The production companies reportedly began adapting the book in 2010 and Adam McKay signed on to adapt and direct the film in 2012.
