Fans of CBS's The Big Bang Theory were in for a treat when Stephen Hawking was incorporated into the show's plot yet again.

'The Big Bang Theory's Mrs. Wolowitz Honored In Upcoming Episode As Howard Receives Shocking News

Thursday night's episode of The Big Bang Theory featured Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) battling an Internet troll who was blasting the latter's scientific theory on a message board. While the pair received a great deal of praise, one "troll" stood against the crowd, calling the pair "wannabes."

As it turns out, this troll was none other than Hawking, obviously famous for his findings on theoretical physics.

"If you were sitting in a chair for 40 years, you'd get bored, too," Hawking quipped.

The Big Bang Theory executive producer Steve Molaro spoke with Variety about Hawking's reappearance.

"We love that Professor Hawking is a part of the 'Big Bang' family," he said. "He has a terrific sense of humor, and we thought he'd be the last person you'd expect to be playing an Internet bully."

He added that Hawking is welcome to visit our set again anytime."

Speaking on Oscar favorite The Theory of Everything, which is a biopic about Hawking's life, Molaro said that this episode airing in the middle of awards season is a "happy coincidence," adding: "But if it makes us look brilliant, then yes, (it's) absolutely intentional."

It remains to be seen if Hawking will make any other appearances on the sitcom soon, but he seems game to lend his image to the show whenever they need him.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
