Jael Stauss, 28, had big dreams when she appeared on Tyra Bank's show "America's Next Top Model," Cycle 8.

But, Strauss let go of those dreams and has spiraled into a full-blown addiction to methamphetamine. Her brother, Brandon, and mother, Debbie, were so concerned about they asked her to travel to Los Angeles so they could stage an interview with Dr. Phil on his talk show. First, however, they had to hunt her down since she has been living on the streets.

Strauss has been dependent on narcotics for the last six years, which means it is likely she was an addict during the modeling competition since her season aired five years ago, according to Jezebel.com

The aspiring supermodel is now unrecognizable with rotten teeth and a face covered in sores.

On the third episode of her season of "America's Next Top Model," Strauss recieved a phone call that one of her close friends had died of a drug overdose.

Her family said her friend's overdose "really shook her," and after the accident her addiction worsened.

According to The Sun, she decided to remain on the show, and said at the time: "There was never, never a question in my mind to leave the competition. My friend is gone and I am still here living life to the fullest."

Although she agreed to be on the the talk show, she ended up fleeing the studio and running through the Paramount parking lot.

Dr. Phil followed her and told her, "This is the first time in ten years I've come out here. To talk to you."

The episode will air on "The Dr. Phil Show" on Sept. 13.
