On Friday, Hollywood Life posted an interview with Mendes who is set to tour with Swift on her 1989 World Tour. He mentioned that there aren't any specific plans to make any new music with Swift, but if the opportunity ever comes along, he'd be all in.

"I would love to collaborate with Taylor Swift," the 16-year-old said. "If there's time on the tour I would love to sit down and write something with her. I mean, if she would ever just write a song outside of our buses, I'm so down."

Mendes also pointed out some advice that Grammy nominee Ed Sheeran gave him, which seemed to help him as a young performer.

"He told me to separate my work life from my play life because if I have the two combined then it's going to be very overwhelming and he's very right," the singer said. "I look up to Ed a lot."

Some of Mendes's popular hits include "Something Big," "A Little Too Much," "Show You," "Life of the Party" and "The Weight."

Swift has one a number of Grammy Awards, including Best Song Written for Visual Media (The Hunger Games) in 2013 for the song "Safe and Sound." Her other big hits include "Shake It Off," "Blank Space" and "I Knew You Were Trouble."
