The Samsung Galaxy S3 was unveiled to the world on May 3 and has since become one of the fastest and best- selling phones of all time, and now, the company believes their new gadget will surpass 30 million in global sales by the end of the year.

CNET.com reported that Samsung sold 20 million Galaxy S3 phones in the first 100 days since its debut in May.

Additionally, Samsung's IT and mobile unit Chief, Shin Jong-kyun, announced on Sept. 12 that the Galaxy Note 2 should reach sales more than double of the original Galaxy Note's 10 million. The new note is expected to come out next month.

Competition with Apple is on the rise. They unveiled their iPhone 5 on Sept. 12, and there are also high hopes for that new phone to do well in the market, boosting Apple sales and perhaps the U.S. economy at the same time.

The Apple device is said to have a bigger screen and thinner body than the iPhone 4S.

The newest thing that Samsung users are waiting for is the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, which is expected to be released in October.

Meanwhile, Samsung has been rolling out different color variations of the Samsung Galaxy S3. AT&T is offering the device in garnet red. It will also be available in amber brown, titanium grey, and sapphire black.

Samsung had stated that the availability will vary based on the country and carrier or retailer within the customer's area. The Galaxy S3 is 4.8 in inches and has a 1280x720 display. It runs Android 4.0 and also features a rear-facing camera with 8-megapixels and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.
