Heidi Klum Seal Divorce: Confirms Dating Bodyguard On 'Katie', "It Just Started" (VIDEO)

Heidi Klum confirmed her rumored relationship with her bodyguard to be true.

When she sat with the veteran news anchor, Katie Couric, for the third episode of her new daytime talk show "Katie" on ABC, the "Project Runway" host addressed speculation if she is dating her longtime bodyguard Martin Kirsten.

When Couric pressed the former Victoria's Secret model if they are indeed in a relationship, Klum admitted it "just started."

"He's a great man . . . and we just got to know each other from a completely different side. He's been with our family for the last four years," she said. "He's cared for our entire family, mostly for our four children, helped us tremendously," said Klum, referring to her children with Seal. "I trust him with my children's life."

The 39-year-old explained why she was hesitant to share the news with the public.

"It's very hard when you start seeing somebody again. It's hard then when everyone is watching you," she explained. "It's almost like you can't have a real proper chance in a way . . .And I do want to date again. I'm turning 40. I don't even know where it's going to go."

A source told US Weekly that the pair's affair blossomed during the summer months.

"This summer the relationship developed into something more . . . This is someone she's comfortable with," the source said, adding that Klum's four kids "love him." 

"They've been seeing each other," another source told In Touch magazine. "They were recently spotted together on vacation in Sardinia, Italy."

Klum and Seal announced their separation last January after seven years of marriage. The German supermodel filed for divorce from Seal in April. 

Klum also told Couric that Seal "has moved on and so have I."

When reports first revealed the supermodel's relationship status, Seal fired back in a response to TMZ, stating the following:

"I didn't expect anything better from him [the bodyguard], I would of thought that Heidi would have shown a little more class and at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were."

Seal, 49, later clarified that he wasn't implying that Klum cheated on him before their January separation.

Klum then responded to the comments from her soon-to-be ex.

"I cherish all of the great memories Seal and I created together over the years," she said to People magazine. "Our separation was based on issues between the two of us. Seal has moved on and so have I. My priority has and continues to be protecting and providing for our children."
