Nashville is about to take on a heavy turn when Scarlett contacts her aunt to talk to her about Deacon's liver cancer.

In a sneak peek of the next episode posted on Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, Deacon's sister Beverly is sitting on the couch with her brother when she hears the bad news. Beverly sounds pretty caring about this and takes Deacon's arm to tell him how sorry she is.

She asks more information on how serious it is- will he need to do chemo? Or 'radiation?'

Deacon looks over at Scarlett to let her know that she should just say it- he needs a liver transplant. Scarlett then tells her aunt that she was going to give her uncle a part of her own liver, but she's not a match.

Beverly knows right away what this means. She knows that her family wants to see if she might be a match for a transplant. Scarlett wanted to ask her about it in person when Beverly tells her how she feels about this suggestion.

"You lured me all the way from Mississippi telling me you wanted to make things right, that you wanted to be a family again," Beverly angrily tells her niece. She continues to fire back at Scarlett by letting her know that she and Deacon don't care about "mending fences."

The scene ends with Beverly giving her answer- "no."
