Arsenal vs. Southampton kicks off Saturday from 10 a.m. ET as the Premier League recommences following the international break. The match will be at the Emirates Stadium and can be watched online through live stream (link provided below).

Arsenal will be favorites for the game, playing in front of their home crowd, and having gone through the opening matches of the season without conceding a goal yet. In past seasons giving away easy goals has undermined Arsenal’s title challenges, but on present evidence this season could be different. If the Gunners can keep a tight ship at the back they could come through the season as serious challengers for the Premier League crown. Center-back pairing of Thomas Vermaelen and Per Mertesacker looks particularly strong.

However, the Gunners’ midfield has also flexed its muscles this season so far with dynamic performances from midfielder Abou Diaby so far. However, he has returned from international duty with a knock and was only 50-50 to start Saturday’s game.

Southampton have had a difficult start to the season so far, playing both Manchester United and Manchester City. But they have shown they are a team who can cause upsets, and took the lead in both of those games. They will be hopeful of getting something from today’s game.

A debut is likely to be handed to record signing Gaston Ramirez. With the £12 million signing returning from international duty with Uruguay, he may only be handed a role from the bench by manager Nigel Adkins.
