The Young and the Restless "Flirt With Disaster" event is underway and that means a plane crash is coming up.

On Feb. 5, the head writer of the soap opera, Chuck Pratt Jr., told The Hollywood Reporter danger would hit Genoa City soon.

"A major storm is on the way, guaranteed to turn lives and loves upside down. Secrets will be revealed. And when a plane goes down, lives are rearranged," he divulged.

The Valentine's Day themed event began on Friday, Feb. 13, and will continue into next week.

On Friday's episode Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) revealed he could see again to those on the private jet with him and based on the Valentine's Day preview trailer, the plane crash is fast approaching.

Soaps revealed the crash will happen during Tuesday, Feb. 17's episode, but on Thursday, The Young and the Restless YouTube Channel gave a glimpse into the shooting of the plane crash scene.

David Hoffmann who is the production designer for the soap revealed, "When we approach a project like this we start with a lot of research, looking at pictures of actual crash sites, a lot of searching for sources for the debris and then what would be an appropriate backdrop to lay in behind everything."

"When I first saw the set I thought it was fantastic," Bryton James who portrays Devon Hamilton Winters said.

Mishael Morgan who plays Hilary Curtis Winters called the plane crash set "so intricate."
