The Jets got off to a dream start to the season when they beat the Buffalo Bills at home, silencing many critics who had questioned their game. However, a defeat today would reignite those same voices, and the Jets will be looking to build upon the good foundation they’ve already set up.

However, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be desperate to immediately bounce back from a week one loss, and will see the sometimes inconsistent Jets as a good opportunity.

The Jets had received a good deal of criticism prior to the regular season starting for some inept preseason showings, in which they failed to enter the red zone until the fourth and final preseason game. But they look to have reached form at the right time and on the week one display there will be renewed optimism in the Jets’ camp.

Against the Bills the Jets’ offense flexed its muscles; led by quarterback Mark Sanchez, the Jets torched the Bills’ secondary for 266 yards and three touchdowns. Sanchez said to ESPN after the game: “I know we're a special group. I've known that from the jump, but I think we're starting to realize it.”

Sanchez completed 19 of 27 passes in the game for an impressive 266 yards, with one interception. Meanwhile Jets’ rookie Stephen Hill also had an impressive game with five receptions for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

"This is as tough a place as we've talked about playing," Ryan told reporters ahead of the Steelers’ game during a press conference.

"It's based on the fact that they have an excellent football team…they don't make mistakes. They don't beat themselves. They're smart. They're extremely physical," Ryan added.
