The CBS drama will introduce a new female character as the sixth season comes to a close, and it sounds like she will be whip smart.

"E617 introduces a character in a Blaze of glory and support of our #NCISLA team...she isn't a puppet, she's a smart cookie! #jpkteaser TRUTH," executive producer John Peter Kousakis teased on Saturday.

There's no word yet as to who will fill the role. Whichever actress snags the gig, however, will play a role in one of the most thrilling episodes of the year.

"#NCISLA takes a break on Monday 2 celebrate and honor Presidents Day. E617 is shaping up as real thriller," Kousakis tweeted.

In the meantime, viewers have four more episodes to get through. "Expiration Date" will air on Feb. 23 before the series moves on to "Savoir Faire" and "Fighting Shadows." The title for episode 19 has yet to be announced.
