On Sunday, Place2Be shared a video on their YouTube channel that featured Middleton discussing the results that come from issues that young people face.

"Without support, the effects of these challenges can be traumatic, leading to serious issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction and self-harm," she said.

She calls out the stigma that appears around mental health and says that this week, Children's Mental Health Week, is the time to talk openly.

"The stigma around mental health means that many children do not get the help that they so badly need. This needs to change."

She then goes on to say that a child's mental health is just as important as their physical health.

"No one would feel embarrassed about seeking help for a child if they break their arm, and we really should be equally ready to support a child coping with emotional difficulties."

The Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly been a patron of the charity Place2Be since 2013. Place2Be offers emotional and therapeutic services for children who struggle with mental health illness.

Middleton appeared in the video wearing a blue tile-print silk shirt dress.

"Both William and I have seen that many young people are struggling to cope with the impact of bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown and more. Without support, the effects of these challenges can be traumatic, leading to serious issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and self harm," Middleton said.
