Kate Middleton may be royalty, but the princess certainly has a way of getting children to accept her as one of their own.

Kate Middleton Wants To Erase Mental Health Stigma For Kids

Despite initial hesitation, kids at the Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School couldn't help but fall a little in love with Kate when she visited them earlier this week.

According to People on Friday, the 33-year-old had a grand time talking about Prince George, now one, and playing a little ukulele with one of the students.

"She was exceptionally natural with the children," noted Dr. John Ivens, who is a head teacher at the school. "And it enabled them to relax and carry on with what they were doing. I noticed how she really listens. It wasn't a matter of just coming back with a response that is polite and diplomatic, but one that is thoughtful and individual."

Kate delighted in telling the younger children about George, reminding them that he will be going through a lot of the same things they are going through as he gets older.

Kate's visit to the facility, which is both a school and a psychiatric hospital, was part of her campaign to raise awareness and compassion for children mental health issues.

"She really wants to get to grips with what the real issues are without assuming she's an expert," said Ivens. "She wants to understand what is going on for these children and use the position to their good."

Kate will continue to campaign on behalf of struggling children over the next few weeks, though she is expected to slow down in April as she prepares to give birth to her second child.
