Is There Hope For A 'Witches Of East End' Renewal?

It was announced last fall that the series would not return for a third season, but that didn't stop fans from raising their voices with online petitions and campaigns. Apparently, fans were so determined that they asked Carter Matt to reveal what they know.

On Monday, the site gave in and mentioned if there was still hope. Unfortunately, they were not very optimistic about it since they haven't heard any big news or even small news lately.

With that being said though, the site pointed out that the cast members from the supernatural drama have not signed on to any new TV shows yet so that creates a spark of hope. If the actors still have open availability on a possible third season, then it might be considered, but that still doesn't guarantee anything.

The site also dished on the online petition that has reached more than 120,000 signatures to date. This also does not guarantee new episodes, but it can definitely help. If the series were to be brought back, it's doubtful that it would come back to Lifetime, but Netflix and Yahoo Screen might be decent candidates.

"We never necessarily felt like [the series] suited the tone of everything else on Lifetime," the publication wrote. "These web providers may just need a little more convincing that this is a show worth picking up."
