The Twilight saga may have ended years ago, but Kristen Stewart looks back on those films with happy memories.

On Wednesday, Interview released a story on the actress who dished on the vampire flicks that turned her into the star she is today. She explained how grateful she is to be a part of this franchise despite any negative criticism.

"I mean, it was a long process, so it's hard to generalize about it as a whole," Stewart said. "It wasn't entirely cohesive. We ebbed and flowed. I will definitely acknowledge that. But the intention is so f---ing pure in a weird way. Anybody who wants to talk s--t about Twilight, I completely get it, but there's something there that I'm endlessly, and to this day, f---ing proud of."

"My memory of it felt- still feels- really good," she added.

The Twilight films led Stewart to date her co-star Robert Pattinson who happened to play her lover on screen. The two ended their relationship years ago and have reportedly moved on.

The actress didn't discuss her ex although she did mention how she's perceived when it comes to the choices she makes in films.

"I'm always asked about what type of things I want to do, and if I make decisions based on my last project," she said. "Say I do a big franchise movie about a vampire that falls in love with a normal girl. It's like, 'Now do you want to show them that you can be a real, serious actor?' It's like, 'Was I not being a real, serious actor?'"
