Jennifer Aniston and her mother have had a tense relationship for years, and it seems the road is still rocky.

Aniston has reportedly banned her mother, 76-year-old Nancy Dow, from attending her wedding with fiancé Justin Theroux.

The 43-year-old actress and her mom have been estranged since Dow gave a detailed interview about the mother-daughter relationship in 1996, when "Friends" was making Aniston a household name and her haircut famous nationwide. The relationship grew even more strained after Dow wrote a tell-all book, "From Mother And Daughter To Friends: A Memoir," in 1999.

The estranged relationship caused Aniston to leave her mom off the guest list for her 2000 wedding with Brad Pitt.

Reports in August initially claimed Dow would finally get a chance to see her daughter as a bride because she would in fact be invited to see Aniston marry Theroux.

But now Aniston has allegedly decided to keep her mother away yet again because she felt Dow would spill the beans on all the wedding plans.

"When Nancy started asking a bunch of questions about the upcoming event, it set off an alarm in Jennifer's head," a source said. "She realized her mom was gossiping way too much about her wedding plans."

Aniston reportedly thought her mother would threaten the low-key wedding she's hoping for.

"After her star-studded $1 million wedding to Brad, Jen now wants a much less formal and less publicized ceremony," the source said. "And she believes Nancy's loose lips are a threat to her privacy."

Aniston spoke publicly about her relationship with her mother following her split with Brad Pitt in 2005. She said then the pair was working toward slowly mending fences between them.

"It's been really nice," Aniston said on "Good Morning America" of the reconciliation. "It's crazy what, you know, your life kind of being turned upside down will lead you to. ... For us it's ... it was the time, and it was going to happen when it was supposed to happen. So this is good. It's baby steps."
