His surgery on his brain was meant to remove the device Helena (Constance Towers) had implanted there so she could control him and make him do her dirty work, but now that its been removed, Jake (Billy Miller) may start regaining more memories of his past on General Hospital.

Jake's Fate Hangs In The Balance

With the chip removed, everyone is now wondering if Jake might remember something else-his real identity. He's been in town for months with no ability to give anyone answers about his past and who he was before the accident that landed him in Port Charles.

And though he isn't likely to be flooded with clarity following the surgery-which would make him realize he is Jason Morgan back from the dead (meaning Sam[ Kelly Monaco] would have her husband and the father of her son back)-Jake may begin having more fleeting memories of his past-and could slowly begin piecing together the clues for his identity.

Nikolas Learns Jake's Real Identity

"I remember," he says in a preview clip for the Monday, February 23 episode.

One thing no one else has been able to figure out however is that he's Jason. And as a result, those who have grown to care for and love him during his time in Port Charles are still clueless. And while they do want to know who he is a part of them is also scared-because if he remembers a life in another town, he would leave Port Charles to reunite with his loved ones.

"I'll be sorry to see him go," Carly (Laura Wright) says to Sam in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
