Shakira Baby is Due in The Next Few Days? Shakira's Mysterious Message Contradicts Previous Reports

Shakira confirmed Wednesday she is expecting her first baby with Soccer player Gerard Pique and stirred speculation that she may be given birth within days and not months as it was previously reported.

In a message on her official website, Shakira confirmed her much rumored pregnancy and mysteriously said that she was canceling all her promotional activities "over the next few days," to focus on her pregnancy.

"As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!" the Colombian diva said.

"At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days," she continued.

The message was especially intriguing because most tabloids estimated Shakira's delivery date to be in January 2013.

Colombia's magazine Gente featured a cover in June claiming that Shakira is expecting her first baby in January 2013.

Another report from a person from Shakira's most intimate circle said in mid-August that Shakira was four months into her pregnancy, according to the Huffpost Voces.

The Huffpost Voces cited the source saying that Shakira doesn't know yet the sex of the baby because at that point it was too early to tell.

But Colombian magazine Gente reported that Shakira is expecting a baby boy, citing comments from her alleged doctor Victor H. Gonzalez-Quintero.

The singer has not confirmed any of those reports.

Shakira, 35 and Pique, 25 first met in 2010 and have been spotted at a Ob-Gyn clinic in Miami.
