The Jodi Arias retrial has been ongoing since October, but appears to finally be drawing to a close.

Judge Sherry Stephens Refuses To Dismiss Death Penalty In Jodi Arias Retrial

After numerous hiatuses due to jury members being excused and more, the attorneys involved in this retrial have officially given their closing arguments according to Yahoo! News via Associated Press on Tuesday.

Arias' lawyers Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott have been arguing that their client murdered Travis Alexander in 2008 due to emotional abuse getting the better of her.

Jodi Arias' Closed-Courtroom Testimony Releases

During Nurmi's closing statement, he put various photos of Arias looking happy on display as he attempted to gather sympathy from the jury that has the power to send the convicted murderer to prison for life or to death row seeing as the death penalty could not be thrown out earlier on in the retrial.

Nurmi urged the jurors to spare Arias' life and called the decision they have to make "monumental".

He asked the jury members, "Would you kill Jodi Arias for what she's done?" adding, "In some ways, the choice before you is simple, right? Life or death."

Arias got this sentencing retrial since the original jury from the first trial in 2013 could not come to a decision on her sentence.

Prosecutor Juan Martinez was scheduled to make his closing argument later Tuesday.

Arias even gave up her chance to take the stand once again Monday to address the jury since she had to do it in the presence of others. Judge Sherry Stephens had to reiterate that the appeals court forbid Arias from making comments behind closed doors.
