Once Upon a Time co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz recently spoke about the midseason premiere set to air on Sunday, discussing Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) any many more storylines.

'Once Upon a Time's Emma Discovering More Of Her 'Magical Powers' In Second Half of Season?

Kitsis and Horowitz talked to D23 this week and talked where Emma and Hook will be at in the upcoming second half of the season.

"They're kind of in a good place," Ktisis said, of Emma and Hook. "We'll see them as a couple facing the world. We're going to get some insight into Hook and some secret fears of his own. And we'll see Hook has a backstory of his own with one of the queens of darkness."

'Once Upon a Time's Robin Hood & Rumple Not The Only Characters Leaving Storybrooke?

Asked if Hook would eventually reveal what happened with the Sorcerer's hat and how many of Storybrooke's residents are inside of it, Horowitz and Kitsis confirmed that this would be covered.

"Yes, and in the spring premiere we'll see him wrestling with what he did with the hat," Horowitz said.

Kitsis added, "He's going to have an unlikely ally who also feels scorned - Belle [Emilie de Ravin]. Both of them were fooled by the Dark One, Mr. Gold. You see them working together to save the fairies."

It should be interesting to see an odd pairing like Hook and Belle working together. As for Emma, she may have grander issues going on as the newest trailer showed her sporting a devilish grin while surrounded by the Queens of Darkness.

Once Upon a Time returns for the second half of season 4 on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
