A new report suggests that the plot of Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 could take a detour from the book.

Mockingjay Part 1 To Be Added On Amazon Roster

Fashion and Style speculated about the possible developments -- especially pertaining to Finnick Odair (Sam Clafin) and Annie Cresta's (Stef Dawson) relationship, and Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) demands of President Coin (Julianne Moore) in exchange for representing the Mockingjay in District 13 -- in the movie.

While the report believes the wedding between Finnick and Annie is most likely to happen, it expressed skepticism about Katniss getting to kill President Snow (Donald Sutherland) after he is captured, which was one of her demands of President Coin. It stated that this part was not in the film, and flirted with the possibility of the script betraying the plot in the book.

Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 To Be 'Extremely Dark And Intense'

There could be some credibility to this suggestion, as it was recently revealed that the producerd of the Hunger Games franchise, were looking to extend the series beyond the book, maybe work on a spin-off. Which would mean they would need an entirely new plot and script.

Den of Geek reported that after a new round of calls with investors the search for new stories to continue with the series is on. According to the publication, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer stated that they were looking for sequel or prequel possibilities. He said that they were "actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities" for The Hunger Games.

Part 2 stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Helmsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, and Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin.

The movie will hit theaters on November 20.
