Miranda Lambert had to make a few sacrifices when she married fellow country artist Blake Shelton, including leaving behind her home state of Texas.

Of course, the Somethin' Bad singer considers the trade to have been well worth it and has even come to adore Oklahoma, where she now lives and where Shelton was raised.

"Oklahoma has welcomed me, and I found my second home in my husband's home state," explained Lambert during an interview with Tulsa's Weekend on Wednesday.

"We love living there on our farm," Lambert continued. "I am a fan of the small-town feel, and I get to be myself."

For Lambert, being herself means kicking back with her husband, having a few drinks, and hanging out with her small brood of adopted dogs.

Shelton too has a keen appreciation for their home. In 2014 he even used a nostalgic black and white photo of the Ada, Okla. water tower as the cover of his latest album, Bringing Back The Sunshine. Shelton was born and raised in Ada. Today, he and Lambert live in Tishomingo, where Lambert has started both a boutique shop called The Pink Pistol and a bed and breakfast known as The Ladysmith.

Lambert began her 2015 Platinum Tour in January and will continue to perform across the country through the summer. Shelton is currently busy filming scenes as a coach on NBC's The Voice, though he too will hit the road later this year.
