They are both locked up in the same mental hospital since Franco (Roger Howarth) escaped from prison, but even though they have seemed to grow even closer as a possible couple, all hope for Franco and Nina (Michelle Stafford) could come to an end on General Hospital.

Nina has kept a watchful eye over her friend since he arrived and saved her from heather (Robin Mattson) by injecting himself with enough LSD to overdose. And though he hasn't been very lucid during their time together, he has been potentially getting better.

However, Nina could soon find herself released if she is ruled to be competent to stand up and defend herself against her actions against Ava (Maura West) and others, which caused her to be locked up in the first place-as her competency hearing is scheduled to begin.

However, if a judge rules in her favor and releases her, it could negatively impact any recovery Franco has made-causing her to try and promise she won't leave him behind.

"I'm not going to abandon you," Nina says to him in a preview clip for the Thursday, Feb. 26 episode.

In addition to Nina not necessarily wanting to leave, some won't agree she is ready to be released back into everyday society -most specifically, her husband, Silas (Michael Easton) will be hesitant to have her potentially back in anyone's life.

"You really think that Nina's ready to be released?" he asks Nathan (Ryan Paevy) in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
