Showtime has released two more posters for the second season of Penny Dreadful, this time pairing creator and creature Victor Frankenstein and Caliban.

New 'Penny Dreadful' Poster Sir Malcolm In Serious Agony 

The first of the images, released by IGN on Thursday, shows a haunted Victor Frankenstein staring up out at the camera. He is dressed in his usual attire with a weathered shirt and jacket, with snow falling around him in the bleak background.

The second poster shows Caliban with his head arched back, looking to be on both the verge of a smile and a wince simultaneously. The scarring along the side of his head is featured prominently, reminding fans of his brutal origins.

Dorian Haunted By His Feelings For Vanessa On 'Penny Dreadful' This Season 

Earlier this week the network shared posters for Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) and Sembene (Danny Sapani), who worked closely together in season one. The pairing of Frankenstein and Caliban this time around could suggest that the two will be on the same side this season, despite their rocky start after Caliban destroyed Frankenstein's beloved Proteus (Alex Price). During the season finale last year Frankenstein saw the possibility of redemption on Caliban, pitying and identifying with him for the first time since the creature's birth.

Next up in posters will likely be Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) and Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), whose friendship will continue to grow as they face new challenges together.

Penny Dreadful will return on Showtime for a second season Sunday, May 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
