Claire Danes won the Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy tonight for her role as CIA agent Carrie Mathison in "Homeland."
Danes bested Glenn Close ("Damages"), Kathy Bates ("Harry's Law), Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men"), Michelle Dockery ("Downtown Abbey") and Julianna Margulies ("Good Wife") for the Emmy. She came on stage to receive the award wearing a stunning bright yellow dress..

"My husband, my love, my life, my baby daddy, this doesn't mean anything without you," Danes said during her acceptance speech. The 33-year-old star is expecting a baby with husband actor Hugh Dancy, 37, to whom she married in 2009.
Danes' co-star Damian Lewis also won an Emmy tonight for Best Lead Actor in a drama for "Homeland."
"I'm one of those pesky Brits, I apologize," said Lewis. "I don't really believe in judging art, but I thought I'd show up just in case."
"Homeland" also took the best writing award Emmy tonight.
The TV drama will kick off its second season on September 30.
