Prosecutors have called a phone company official to the stands to prove that there were some missing text messages from Hernandez's phone.

On Friday, ESPN reported that the NFL player had exchanged messages with a co-defendant before Lloyd's murder, but now the texts are missing.

According to the site, prosecutor Patrick Bomberg went through a series of non-deleted text messages that Hernandez had exchanged with Ernest Wallace in the days leading up to June 17, 2013, the day Lloyd was murdered.

Hours before Lloyd's death, Hernandez sent a number of messages to Wallace persuading him to come and meet.

On June 11, Hernandez asked Wallace if he moved everything from a car. The following day he said he needed "those keys" and he said that things are "crazy."

A couple of hours after sending that message, Hernandez said that he wanted to kill him.

The Sprint official testified in court that several other messages that were seen on record didn't appear on Hernandez's phone.

Based on their evidence, the prosecutors have concluded that Hernandez and his two friends Carlos Ortiz and Wallace, picked Lloyd up at his home in Boston, drove him to the industrial park, and shot him to death.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges, and he currently remains in jail without bail.
