Keith Urban might just be the one to credit for keeping wife Nicole Kidman tied to their Australian roots.

Keith Urban Dishes On 'Enlightening' New Album

At least, that was the Daily Mail's theory when it took a close look at Australian stars on Feb. 20.

It is a known fact that people who move from their country or continent of origin can begin to either lose their native accent or develop a new one based on their surroundings. This form of adaptation, while common, is particularly noticeable when it comes to public figures.

'Paddington' Star & 'Somewhere In My Car' Singer Prep for The Oscars

According to the Daily Mail, country artist Keith Urban seems to be one of the few Australian stars to have retained much of his natural accent over the years. Despite moving to Nashville and embracing the American music industry, the Somewhere In My Car singer still sounds distinctly Australian during all interviews and personal encounters.

Urban's wife, on the other hand, has been less consistent.

The actress, who was raised in different parts of the world throughout her early life, seems to have developed a thinner, more generic way of speaking than her musician husband. Over the last few years the Oscar winner seems to be returning a little to her former way of speech, likely as a result of being married to a fellow Aussie.

It will be interesting to see how the couple's daughters ultimately begin to sound as they grow older. Six-year-old Sunday Rose and four-year-old Faith Margaret are being raised in Nashville, which is considered to be the heart and soul of country music.

With a pair of a Aussie parents, however, the girls might just have a hint of their parents' home-country in their speech as the years continue.
