Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley admitted that there's another career he's always considered doing that might be a little surprising to some.

On Thursday, One Question Interviews posted a live chat with the actor where he had to answer a random question written on a card. The question was- what did Wesley want to study? As it turns out, he's always had an interest in journalism.

"I always wanted to be a journalist," the TV star said. "I love the idea of researching something and then writing about it."

Wesley also pointed out how reporting was fascinating to him likely because he watched Teenage Mutant Nina Turtles growing up and he enjoyed the character April O'Neil who was always looking to uncover the truth.

"I would watch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and there was that reporter," Wesley said. "She was just a reporter, but she would go and investigate and she found the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and she was like, 'Oh my god.' And maybe that excited me? So I thought: I want to discover and find things and then report on them. That's kind of like something I always wanted to do."

Wesley is currently dating The Originals star Phoebe Tonkin. The two spent Valentine's Day together where the actor posted a photo of his girlfriend striking a dancer pose.
