Many doctors were fascinated with the lecture Amelia gave in regard to Dr. Herman's case especially over all the intricacies; however now come the March 5 episode, The Distance, those intricacies will catch up to Amelia.

A crowd of doctors will look on from the gallery as Amelia carries out the surgery with Dr. Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) by her side.

TVLine reported near the end of last month that Hinton said her character is "nervous as hell" to be part of such a groundbreaking procedure.

"She's nervous but still capable, and inspired," the actress added.

Stephanie is set to be a supportive force for Amelia during this episode, but Amelia will be just as much as a supportive force for Stephanie.

Also occurring in The Distance is that Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) will take the lead on one of Dr. Herman's cases that means a lot to Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) so Bailey will become skeptical.

Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
