An Iranian military official has come forth to reveal that his country will have no mercy and hold nothing back against U.S. bases in their way if they go ahead and decide to start a war with Israel.

The Iranian commander that made the statement was Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who also mentioned that an attack on Israel cannot happen without the support of their allied country the United States, making all U.S. military bases a target for attack, according to the New York Post.

"For this reason, we will enter a confrontation with both parties and will definitely be at war with American bases should a war break out," Hajizadeh said in remarks taken via Iran's state Al-Alam TV. "There will be no neutral country in the region. To us, these bases are equal to U.S. soil."

U.S. facilities in Bahrain, Qatar and Afghanistan would be targeted as well, he said.

The Inquisitor suspects another reason why Iran has made the threats to attack the U.S. in the event of an Iran-Israel war, stating the following:

"...The answer is pretty simple. Iran believes Israel would not attack them without support, or at least permission, from the U.S... Iran doesn't believe Israel would act unilaterally, and the threats are a reminder to the U.S. and other nations of what is at stake should Iran and Israel go to war."

U.S. bases in the region are in range of Iran's ballistic missiles.

"If Iran fires a volley of missiles at the U.S. Navy base in Qatar, for example.. Iran could hurt the U.S. badly, probably worse than it could hurt Israel, which has significant anti-missile defences and also has the benefit of being further away," Matt Gurney, a commentator of the National Post, said.

However, Gurney also mentioned that the threat is perhaps Iran's way of playing a game with the U.S.

"[They are] telling a distant nation that it will be dragged into a fight that it might be otherwise tempted to dismiss as a regional skirmish. To avoid having to deal with this headache, the U.S. will be redoubling its already strong pressure on Israel to hold is fire and be patient," he said. "That was Iran's goal, of course. It doesn't want a war with the U.S., either. But it knows that the U.S. has already decided that war is off the table... Iran's playing on that, to box in Israel."

On Sept. 11, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the U.S. had no "moral right" to stop Israel in their endeavors to take action against Iran's nuclear facilities because the U.S. has "refused to be firm with Tehran," according to The Times of India.

"The world tells Israel 'wait, there's still time'. And I say, 'Wait for what? Wait until when?' " said Netanyahu at a press conference. "Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don't have a moral right to place a red light before Israel."

In addition, the publication reported that only a day earlier did U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton say that the U.S. would not set a deadline for further talks with Iran about their nuclear program because "there was still time for diplomacy to work."
