A new portrait of Queen Elizabeth was designed and unveiled for coins in the United Kingdom.

Kate Middleton Will Only Attend Two More Engagements Before She Gives Birth To Her Royal Baby

On Monday, CNN reported that the Royal Mint has released a fifth coin design for the reverse of Britain's coins where Queen Elizabeth's profile had been updated.

Something seemed to stick out --or in-- as the queen's skin under her neck seemed to be raised even though the new design is supposed to depict an older version of her.

Does Queen Elizabeth Think Kate Middleton Is Slacking On Royal Duties Because She Is Pregnant?

This is the fifth portrait of the queen to be designed during her 63-year reign as Queen.

The new design was created by Jody Clark who is the first Royal Mint engraver to be chosen to create a definitive royal coinage portrait in over 100 years.

"I think it's the most familiar and I wanted to make some clear distinctions between the (most recent) portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS, as Her Majesty really hasn't aged too much in the years since," Clark said.

The key differences in the fourth and fifth portraits are small, but evident. The queen appears to have less wrinkles on her neck and her skin under her neck seems to appear not as prominent.

The crown that the queen wears in the new portrait is of different design, more closely resembling an older version of her portrait.

She wears earrings in this design which she did not in the fourth, but did in the third design.

Her hair in the final portrait of the queen is definitely more lifelike than in the other portraits.

According to the Royal Mint, production of the coins began on Monday and they should appear in circulation later this year.
