An upcoming episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time will feature more heartbreaking insight into Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) past with Ursula (Merrin Dungey).

'Once Upon a Time's Emma's Status As The Savior Not Necessarily 'Black-And White'?

Once Upon a Time co-creator Edward Kitsis spoke with TVLine recently and teased that what happened to Hook in the past was "far worse" than the average heartbreak.

"When you think about what would be worse than having your heart broken, I would say having your soul crushed," Kitsis said. "You're going to see the entire flashback of what happened, with the origin of Ursula."

'Once Upon a Time's Emma & Regina Working On Repairing Friendship?

Clearly, Ursula had quite the impact on Hook. This origin story will be revealed during the March 15 episode of Once Upon a Time.

In the mean time, ABC has released a plot synopsis for the next episode of Once Upon a Time, titled Unforgiven. Ursula and her fellow Queen of Darkness Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit) will cause even more grief in this episode, this time with David (Josh Dallas) and Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin).

"David and Mary Margaret suspect Cruella and Ursula have come to Storybrooke looking for something more than their own happy endings - something that threatens to reveal a secret they thought was long buried," the synopsis reads.

"Emma [Jennifer Morrison] begins her own investigation of Cruella and Ursula, but she can't shake the feeling that her friends and family are keeping something from her. Regina [Lana Parrilla] and Henry [Jared Gilmore] continue their search for the Author, turning to Pinocchio [Jakob Davies] and Marco [Tony Amendola] in the hope Pinocchio might remember a clue that will help them. Meanwhile, in a flashback to Fairy Tale Land, Snow and Charming cross paths with the Queens of Darkness as the threat of the Evil Queen's Dark Curse hangs over all of them."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
