Erica Mena is gearing up to be the wife of rapper and actor Bow Wow (real name Shad Moss) and has reportedly quit filming VH1's Love & Hip Hop New York.

An insider told Bossip Tuesday that the drama she has had with her co-stars such as Chrissy Monroe, her ex-girlfriend Cyn Santana and off-camera issues she's had with newcomer Jhonni Blaze prompted Mena to opt out of taping the reunion special.

"A lot of people cast this season were cast because of beef with her. Erica was pretty much sick of the deflecting and projecting off of other people's negativity."

She chose not to be at the reunion for the simple reason she has thrown punches while taping the episode in the past.

"She's about to be somebody's wife and she didn't want to put herself in the type of space where that could happen...where she has to act negative."

The rest of the cast taped the reunion Tuesday. Mena instead jetted off to Florida with her son for his eighth birthday.

She filmed her last scene earlier this year. The source said viewers will definitely notice she is in fewer clips as the show progresses.

While Mena has mentioned her romance with Bow Wow and even gushed about their engagement on Love & Hip Hop New York, both she and the child star decided for him not to be on the show.

She told TMZ that she would prefer to protect their relationship versus display it for millions to see.
