After all these years, Revenge's Jack Porter is still optimistic.

The bar owner/cop hasn't had the best of luck - no one in the Hamptons seems to own a four leaf clover - and it looks like season 4 will soon throw him a few more curveballs before it comes to a close. Despite this, "Bait" will find Jack (Nick Wechsler) on the beach with David Clarke (James Tupper), counseling the equally unfortunate man about seeing the glass as half full.

"No one knows what the future holds," Jack says in a sneak peek for "Bait" (see video below) "But if you're an optimist, that just means anything's possible."

So what has Jack is such a sunny mood? It could be the fact that he is about to confess his true feelings for Emily (Emily VanCamp). Ms. Thorne may currently be locking lips with Ben but, as Jack said, the future is unknown.

"I think we all know at her core, it was always Aiden or Jack, and Aiden's gone, and they're developing this... I do think that these two (Jack and Emily), no matter what has happened, there's such a deep love and connection there, that we actually are starting to explore a little bit more which I think the fans will be really excited about," VanCamp told E! Online.
