The actor addressed the rumors on Tuesday, according to BuzzFeed, squashing the dwindling rumors in the face of the studios' search for its first Miles Morales.

"It makes me feel bad because I'm, like, disappointing a big chunk of fans across the nation," O'Brien told BuzzFeed. "You can tell them that it's not true."

If the comic book studio and the flagging Sony franchise were looking for a high school version of Peter Parker, O'Brien could fit the bill. Now 23, O'Brien currently plays a teenage Stile Stilinski on Teen Wolf and a 16-year-old Tomas in The Maze Runner series.

"It's nothing but flattering," O'Brien explained. "[But] it's never something I would want to get myself excited about, since I know I haven't heard about it from a professional standpoint. I've always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like [for] any actor my age, that's, like, a big thing."

O'Brien may not take on the web slinger's persona anytime soon, but Stiles will continue to defend Beacon Hills when Teen Wolf returns to MTV this summer. Click the video below to see O'Brien as to Nogitsune in season 3.
