'Longmire' Star Says Fan Letters Were Used During Netflix Meeting

This will be the crime drama's first season on Netflix. In 2014 the series was dropped by A&E after having thrived as the network's most popular scripted scripted series for three seasons. The program floated around for months as producers scrambled to find it a new home. Aided by overwhelming support from fans, the show was picked up by Netflix in November.

Considering the different formats followed by the networks, each episode of the series will not be about ten minutes longer. In addition, writers have been granted more creative freedom in terms of violence, language, and other mature content.

Writers have been hard at working since December penning the new episodes, though they haven't released too many spoilers just yet. Production is set to begin by the end of the month.

Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
