Castle boss David Amann recently revealed that another big villain might be coming up soon for Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic).

'Castle's Jerry Tyson Still Has Possibility Of Being Alive In Future Seasons?

Amann recently spoke with The Indian Express about Castle and how the ABC series may soon introduce another villain in the same vein as Jerry Tyson (Michael Mosley) or Dr. Kelly Nieman (Annie Wersching).

"We probably will [introduce a new villain]," Amann said. "I think we very much liked Tyson's character and what he brought to the show but we wanted to wrap it in a way that was satisfying and move on to other ideas. Moving on, we expect that someone will appear on the horizon and be a significant nemesis to Castle and Beckett."

'Castle's Beckett Suspicious Of Hong Kong Colleague In New Episode

Meanwhile, much of the buzz for season 7 of Castle has been how many story threads seem to be wrapped up or concluding. Castle and Beckett are now married, the 3XK case is closed and Beckett's mother's murder case is closed.

However, this doesn't mean that Amann and company are running out of storylines.

"The future of the show looks great. I think we can go on for a number of more seasons," he said. "Just because Castle and Beckett are married, it does not stop being interesting. It is a new beginning. But yes, coming up with new stories is very challenging because we don't like to repeat ourselves. That's the challenge we deal with in every season."

Based on Amann's comments, it seems that he would like to continue doing the series as long as ABC renews it for season 8 and Fillion and Katic elect to renew their contracts, which run up at the end of season 7.

It remains to be seen what ABC and the show's stars will choose to do at the end of season 7 but time is running out as there are only seven episodes left in the season.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
