The second matchup of the Super 8 games will kick off on Thursday between West Indies and England.  Both teams' performances thus far haven't been ideal, as West Indies hasn't won a game yet and England is coming off an upsetting lose against India. In a matchup that should be pretty close, neither team is considered a favorite.

Although they did fair well against the Afghanistan squad in batting, England didn't produce the same way when they faced India. The Indian spinners had left Luke Wright and the rest of the Englishmen with many uncertainties. The team's pacers performed up to par, but came up short against Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Even though the English haven't fared too well in batting lately, they aren't likely to make any major alterations. They are expected to approach the game as a one-off and stick to their current order. Samit Patel should play a crucial role in the match with his superior batting and bowling skills.

The English are the defending champions and many do not expect another poor performance out of them. However, they must effectively stop the West Indies strong spin attack, which will be led by Sunil Narine. The respective objective could play a large part in whether or not the team will advance.

The West Indies squad has been hindered by the weather with both of their games having rain. Their batting was above par against a high quality Australian attack, as seniors Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels played well. However, the team's bowlers would rather put the match behind them.

West Indies will look to exploit England's weakness facing the spin. The team is confident in Sunil Narine so he may be the player to lead the way. However, Samuels and Gayle will be needed as well for West Indies to be effective.
