It looks like "American Idol" won't be Nicki Minaj's only television gig.

Rumors have swirled over the past few days that the rapper was in negotiations to star in her own reality series for the E! network. And while Minaj had played coy in recent interviews and kept quiet on whether she'll actually go forward with the show, Perez Hilton reports that he can confirm the series has gotten the green light.

Not only has E! given a Minaj-centric series the go-ahead, but Hilton reported the show has already begun filming.

In a recent interview, Minaj didn't give a straightforward denial that a show was in the works, but she refused to say anything concrete about her decision on whether to do a reality series or not.

"That I'm going to keep a secret for now," she said. "I thought I'd never do something like  [a reality show], not saying I am still. I'm still considering. But, I will say that I find the more people see, is the more they understand, and then it's the more they like you. If you only have such one-dimensional things to go off of like rumors, then you kind of never get to know the artist. When you pull them in your world, they see you as a real person. I'm not running away from it anymore."

MTV reported that Minaj began to seriously consider a reality show after she saw her friend Kanye West appear on E!'s high-profile reality series "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" alongside his girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

Fans will also be able to spot Minaj as a judge on the upcoming season of "American Idol" alongside Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson.

"It's a milestone for me; it's a milestone for hip-hop; it's a milestone for young black women," Minaj said. "Has there ever been a black woman [judging] on the show? This is a show that 20 million people watch, so I feel like we should be represented on that show, and I'm very proud of my decision to do it."
