The fifth season of FX's American Horror Story is reportedly titled Hotel and it may have a connection with a previous season of the horror anthology series.

All four seasons of American Horror Story have had a supernatural element to them, whether it be aliens in Asylum, witches in Coven or ghosts in Murder House and Freak Show. It is assumed that Hotel will have similar elements in it but will it have overlaps with another season?

There are many different directions the writers can go with Hotel as far as making it scary, but it could have many similarities with Murder House. The first season of the show centered on a family moving into a haunted house filled with the ghosts of past owners. Like Hotel, the season was set in the present day.

It is possible that Hotel will feature similar elements of past tenants being trapped as ghosts or some other horrifying creature in the hotel. Asylum played with a similar theme of everyone being trapped in the same location.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy previously made the big announcement that every season of the show is connected and essentially in the same world. Since Murder House and Coven also took place in the present day, a crossover into Hotel is certainly manageable.

Very little has been revealed about the fifth season of American Horror Story other than the name and the casting of Lady Gaga. More will likely be revealed at PaleyFest 2015 on Sunday, March 15, which many of the Freak Show cast will be attending.

Another big event coming up will be hosted by the Television Academy and feature many cast members from previous seasons. One of those cast members is Connie Britton, who only starred in Murder House. With the actress returning to speak on her experience with the show, could she be coming back for a spot on Hotel?

American Horror Story: Hotel is expected to begin in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
